Meet The Team

Since training and qualifying with a firm in Evesham, James has been practising in Cheltenham since 1995. As well as building up a network of clients and contacts, James co-founded “The Cheese Club” a professional networking event held at the Daffodil Restaurant, has served on the board of Directors of Cheltenham Town Football Club and been a school governor.
Outside of work James is also a keen motorcyclist, both on and off road, and, when not actively riding, enjoys watching the action at the racetrack.

Simon Sheldon
Simon graduated at Exeter University in 1987 before training and qualifying in 1991 with a Top 20 Gloucestershire practice. Simon lives in Gloucester and is married with two children.
As well as running the practice with a special responsibility for staff and recruitment, Simon has been a Governor of an Infants School for over a decade, sits on a Schools Appeals Panel and is Chairman of Fredericks Gloucestershire, a charity that assists disadvantaged businesses.

Rob Jordan
Rob qualified as a certified accountant at the same firm as James before moving into industry where he spent time as Financial Controller of a training company and held two senior roles in two large Solicitor practices. As well as managing his own portfolio Rob provides specialist advice and support to solicitors and provides FD support to a number of our clients.
Rob is a keen family man as well as spending time chasing after his unruly Springer Spaniel!

Melvyn Holder
Melvyn also has a keen knowledge of Solicitor Accounts Rules as well as having a diverse portfolio including a number of significant audit clients. Mel has worked closely with a number of his clients for a great many years having worked for our predecessor. As well as his client responsibilities Mel ensures the firms technical work programmes remain up to date.
In his spare time Mel is an avid Cheltenham Town supporter and enjoys cruises with the family.

Terry Beames
Terry has a large number of smaller owner managed businesses and has a particular strength in the Construction Industry having advised clients in this sector all of his professional career. However he also works closely with one of our larger clients and has helped guide them successfully through VAT inspections, day to day compliance and more complex issues.
Terry is another keen football follower supporting both Cheltenham Town and the lesser known Manchester United.

Sue Thompson
Sue specialises in Sage support and training as well as managing and preparing accounts for her portfolio of clients including a number in the Transport, hotel and restaurant sectors. Sue is admired by her clients for her plain speaking, no nonsense approach.
Sue is a local girl and used to be a keen mixed hockey player and enjoyed going on the tours until her 2 little ones came along. She also supports her partner Nigel Thompson with his county golf playing.

Emily Rudge
Emily joined the firm in September 2012 as an apprentice. She became AAT qualified in 2015 and will now be progressing through her ACA training through the firm. Emily assists staff members with accounts work, corporation tax and payroll duties
Emily is a keen but not so good skittle player and loves to shop for shoes.

Karen Pike
In addition to dealing with clients on reception Karen also looks after the filing system and the associated file management and archiving which ensures the smooth running of things behind the scenes.
Outside of work Karen is busy running around after her 3 children and is actively involved in the Leckhampton community.
